Evaluations
TYAP provides a range of diagnostic
services for children and adolescents. TYAP’s philosophy
and experience is that there is no “un-testable” child,
and our staff is trained to work specifically with children
with Autism and related developmental disorders. A full battery
of age appropriate tests is available for diagnosing Autistic
Spectrum Disorders (Autism, Pervasive Developmental Disorder,
and Asperger’s Syndrome) for all ages. We evaluate
your child’s mental and motor functioning, receptive
and expressive language skills, visual-spatial skills, and
adaptive behaviors.
Our test battery includes the following tests, based on
age appropriateness for each child:
- Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS)
- Bayley Scales of Infant Development – 2nd
Ed.
- Wechsler Preschool and Primary
Scale of Intelligence – 3rd
Ed. (WPPSI-III)
- Wechsler Intelligence Scale for
Children – 4th
Ed. (WISC-IV)
- Merrill-Palmer Scale of Mental Tests
- Reynell Developmental Language Scales
- Pre-School Language Scales – 4th
Ed. (PLS-4)
- Vineland Adaptive Behavior Scales
- Social Responsiveness Scale
- Childhood Autism Rating Scale
- Child Behavior Checklist
- Behavior Observation
Parents are provided an evaluative
report that details diagnosis and the child’s strengths
and deficits in each of the above areas, along with individualized
treatment recommendations and available community resources.
